On Thursday, June 6, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the fifth edition of the Centre for Digital Construction Croatia (CDI) Meet-up will take place in Zagreb.
In the beautiful space of Urania, located at Trg Eugena Kvaternika 3/3, 10000 Zagreb, you can look forward to lectures on the topic of cost estimating in the era of digital transformation.
The fifth edition of the CDI Meet-up is one of this year’s events organized by the Centre for Digital Construction Croatia, designed for exchanging experiences, tracking the Centre’s progress, and learning new digital processes and methods in the construction industry.
This edition of the Meet-up will focus on the topic: “Cost estimate in one click – myth or reality”, covering cost estimation processes in the era of digital transformation at some of Croatia’s most advanced companies.
Digital transformation and automation of cost estimating
How might this process look according to BIM experts? What is required to automate it — both in individual companies and in the industry as a whole? These are the key questions we will explore through expert presentations and real-life examples.
Registration for the Meet-up will be open from 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by the official opening and welcome speech by Monika Mlakić, President of the Board at the Centre for Digital Construction Croatia.
The first lecture “Cost Estimate in One Click – From Myth to Reality” starts at 5:30 PM, speaker is Vedran Orešić, BIM4me.
Vedran will provide an overview of the challenges in automatically generating cost estimates from Revit models as a foundation for BIM standardization.
The following lecture “Advanced Methods of Cost Estimation”,speaker Marko Dabrović, 3LHD starts at 5:45 PM.
Marko will share insights into advanced cost estimation processes and the management of information within BIM model elements, illustrated through examples from major domestic projects.
Cost Estimation in a BIM Environment
Dinko Žele from Pro Elemento will talk about “Cost Estimation in a BIM Environment” at 6:00 – 6:15 PM .
Dinko will present his expertise on the possibilities and advantages of generating cost estimates in a BIM environment. His talk will clearly explain the process and showcase several practical examples.
The following lecture “(10)1 Click Without Standards” by Goran Anić, ATP Zagreb Architects & Engineers d.o.o. is at 6:15 PM.
Goran will demonstrate how the cost estimation process looks when using digital tools, highlighting the benefits, limitations, and prerequisites of such an approach.
AT 6:30 PM Filip Prpić from Strabag d.o.o. will talk about “Challenges of (Non-)Usable Models in Tender Preparation”
Filip will explain the challenges associated with using BIM models in the tender preparation process and explore ways to overcome them.
Final lecture before the panel discussion “Cost Estimates as a Function of Lifecycle Costs of Infrastructure Projects” by Marko Šimac, Hrvatske ceste will start at 6:45 PM.
Marko will explain how broader use of technology, digital processes, and enhanced stakeholder competencies can lead to more efficient construction and maintenance of public projects. Naturally, this should result in lower costs and reduced risk of budget overruns. Hrvatske ceste, as an industry leader in project development, is actively addressing these challenges.
