The Centre for Digital Built Croatia (CDI) is an independent, non-profit association established in 2022 and based in Zagreb. Its mission is to promote digitalization and digital transformation across all processes of the construction industry and construction projects.

The Centre brings together key stakeholders in the construction sector in one place, including public sector representatives, industry leaders, universities, and individual enthusiasts.

To enable the digitalization of the construction industry in the Republic of Croatia!

  • Raising awareness among construction industry stakeholders about the need to apply digital solutions and processes throughout all phases of a construction project.
  • Developing a platform to enhance collaboration and coordination among construction professionals, including both the private and public sectors.
  • Connecting professionals and organizations—both domestic and international—with investors and companies.
  • Promoting digitalization in the construction industry.
  • Standardizing the application of digital tools and processes in construction.

All individuals and legal entities involved in the construction sector are welcome to join—civil and architectural engineers, electrical and mechanical engineers, representatives of institutions, universities and non-profit organizations, investors, students, and software/hardware manufacturers and distributors.

If you are interested in the Centre’s development and strategic initiatives, CDI also offers partnership opportunities and the chance to invest in the advancement of digital technologies in the construction industry.

CDI offers its members the opportunity to take part in educational sessions, training programs, and receive discounts on various certifications for acquiring new digital skills.

Membership also grants access to quarterly gatherings and benefits at the annual conference. The greatest benefit is the connection with other professionals in the construction sector through specialized working groups known as VDC4Groups. These groups provide opportunities to learn, contribute, and help guide the industry in the right direction.

Each group focuses on market research and evaluation, organizing and participating in training and educational events, and developing and publishing construction guides and standards.

In addition to individual membership activities, the Centre offers a program for construction companies (Legal Entities Program). For industry leaders looking to promote digitalization and expand their corporate social responsibility, CDI also offers partnership packages.

VDC4Group (Virtual Design & Construction) is a core structural element of CDI’s operation. With the goal of engaging all construction industry participants in the digitalization process, CDI has established nine professional working groups:

  • VDC4Architecture
  • VDC4Infrastructure
  • VDC4Structure
  • VDC4Site
  • VDC4Mechanical
  • VDC4Electrical
  • VDC4ProjectManagement
  • VDC4Geodesy
  • VDC4FM

Every full member has the right to join one working group of their choice based on personal interest and competencies. Every four years, members of the Assembly elect group representatives (VDC4Leads), who are responsible for forming and implementing group plans and activities. These elected representatives also serve as part of the 13-member Assembly.

The core activities of each group include market research and monitoring, planning and organizing training sessions, and developing and publishing industry guides and standards.

DigiDeck is the largest conference on digital technologies in construction in Southeast Europe. It represents the culmination of CDI’s work and features lectures from international and domestic professionals, insights into the latest technologies via exhibitor booths and presentations, and opportunities for networking and learning.

The first DigiDeck conference was held on November 10, 2022, at the Mozaik Event Center in Zagreb.
