On November 14, more than 350 participants gathered at the Mozaik Event Centre in Zagreb for DigiDeck24, the now traditional conference on digital technologies in the construction sector.

Organised by the Centre for Digital Built Croatia (CDIH) and partner companies, under the auspices of the Ministry of Physical Planning, Construction and State Assets, and the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, the event brought together industry experts to explore the application of digital technologies in design and construction — with a strong focus on BIM processes, artificial intelligence, and robotics in construction.

A Comprehensive Programme on Digital Transformation in Construction designed to offer a comprehensive overview of the key topics and challenges faced by the construction industry in the digital age, the conference programme was structured around four main thematic blocks. Participants gained insights into various forms of digital transformation in the industry, with numerous practical examples.

The exhibition area provided a showcase of the latest technologies in construction, while also offering companies the opportunity to present their digital services across both design and construction.

Some of the exhibitors included: DCT Croatia, Urbane ideje, Inovapro, Amelicor Group, Strabag, Prior, Arhigon, Geocetar, Vertiv, ATP, STAS, ASEE, Geomatika Smolčak, among others. The exhibition also featured the latest robotic solutions developed in collaboration with Amelicor Group, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FSB), and Crta organisation.

In the first two conference blocks, participants explored the application of digital technologies in both the design and construction phases of major Croatian projects such as the Rimac Campus, Justice Square (Trg pravde), Pfizer’s manufacturing plant, and Cvjetni Square.

In addition to Croatian case studies, the programme also featured insights and initiatives from international speakers from Germany, the United Kingdom, and Estonia. Christopher Raitviir, Head of Digital Construction at the City of Tallinn, spoke about the importance and development of a system for issuing building permits through BIM processes. German experts shared experiences from the Munich Metro project and demonstrated how BIM models are being used for bridge monitoring and maintenance.

This year’s DigiDeck24 also included specialised three-hour workshops as part of the conference programme. Participants had the opportunity to explore the practical applications of AI in construction with Stjepan Mikulić, as well as deepen their expertise in the use of the Revit BIM software with Miloš Temerinski, also known as Balkan Architect.

With the help of speakers such as Sergio Galošić (Klimaoprema) and Drago Cmuk (Forvis Mazars), attendees explored the world of AI-driven, pre-planned digital processes. Specialised sessions, including presentations on the use of Dalux and BIM implementation during the construction phase in Croatian projects, offered participants a closer look at how companies like Strabag are applying BIM in their daily project work.

One of the highlights was the presentation by Ante Čikotić (Inovapro), who gave an exclusive first look at solarnakarta.hr — a web-based platform that allows users to assess their property’s potential for solar energy generation simply by entering their address, making self-supply solutions easier and more accessible than ever.

During the event, organisers highlighted projects and initiatives completed in 2024 and shared exciting plans for 2025. The date for the next edition of DigiDeck is already confirmed — mark your calendars for November 6, 2025!
