Organized by the Center for Digital Construction Croatia, a Meet-up dedicated to the real-world application of digital solutions in construction was successfully held. Entitled “From CAD to BIM – We are part of the digital transformation”, the event brought together architects, engineers, designers, contractors, IT experts and students – all with the aim of sharing knowledge, experiences and practical challenges.

The opening speech was given by the president of the association, Monika Mlakić, who highlighted the current situation of the application of digital technologies in Croatia and presented how the Center can help in the process of adapting and implementing digital solutions.

The program was marked by four exceptional lectures:

• Ivan Radeljak, B.A. (Studio OMNIARH) showed us how an architectural office implemented BIM and what steps led them to the first BIM model in the office
• Ante Rašić, M.A. (Inovapro) shared about the application of digital technologies in mechanical engineering, 3D scanning and the importance of coordination between different professions
• Katarina Borac, M.A. (aedif.) (Spegra) – in her lecture “We are part of the digital transformation: We shape the future through experience”, she showed how concrete knowledge from the construction site can be the foundation for successful digitalization. Her experience from everyday project management was invaluable for all those present who want to understand the digital transition from the field.
• Berislav Tomašić, Unit Manager (ASEE) – showed how artificial intelligence and advanced document management systems can improve efficiency and precision in everyday work.
  Special emphasis was placed on concrete experiences “from the field”, the exchange of first-hand lessons, as well as open dialogue on the challenges of digital transformation.

The gathering continued in an informal tone with the Beer & Technology concept, which further encouraged networking and continued conversations among the participants.

🧩 Conclusion: technology is changing the way we work – but people still remain at the center of every process. It is events like this that bring together knowledge, practice and community.
