After the summer break, the 6th Meet-up of the Centre for Digital Built Croatia was held under the title:
“Software in Focus — 3 Tools, 90 Minutes.”
On Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at the Algebra University College, three expert-led presentations were delivered, focusing on the use of three advanced BIM tools: Revit, Civil 3D, and Lumion.
Civil 3D — Tips and Tricks

Domagoj Vincek, Design Engineer at Vodoprivredno projektni biro, opened the 6th CDI Meet-up with a presentation on using Civil 3D software.
In his talk, Domagoj highlighted the advantages and challenges of working on large-scale infrastructure projects with AutoCAD Civil 3D, and shared valuable tips for optimising workflows through the use of Data Shortcuts and AutoCAD Map.
Participants also had the opportunity to learn more about the automated process of generating deliverable drawings and the automation of cross-section editing.
Revit — Tips and Tricks

The presentations continued with a new set of software tips and tricks, this time focusing on one of the leading tools for BIM modelling — Revit.
Martina Pavlović Cerinski, BIM Manager at Elektroprojekt d.d., shared practical tips for speeding up project workflows, starting from the most basic keyboard shortcuts to advanced process automation using Dynamo scripts.
Lumion — Tips and Tricks

The 6th CDI Meet-up wrapped up the series with a session focused on tips and tricks for using Lumion, the popular 3D visualization and rendering software for architecture and construction.
Roko Šarić, D&R expert from ATP Zagreb Architects & Engineers d.o.o., guided participants through practical examples of working with Lumion.
He highlighted features such as creating custom libraries of materials and objects, working with PBR materials, and modifying custom render styles.
Roko also demonstrated how to use “stickers” to enhance presentations and how to make this user-friendly software even more accessible and intuitive for users.

After the 6th Meet-up, the evening continued with the traditional Beer & Technology informal networking session, kindly sponsored by Prior Inženjering.
The Centre for Digital Built Croatia would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their support.
A big thank you to all participants, speakers, and our partners for another excellent Meet-up!
Recordings of the presentations will soon be available on the Centre’s YouTube channel.
Before the next Meet-up, we look forward to seeing you at DigiDeck24 — Croatia’s largest conference on digital technologies in construction, organised by the Centre for Digital Built Croatia.
The conference will take place on November 14, 2024, at the Mozaik Event Centre.
Following that, we will return with the 7th Meet-up, scheduled for November 26, 2024, at Algebra University College.
We will continue the Software in Focus series, presenting new software tools — stay tuned for more information!
See you there!
